These poster combine type and image to create strong poster designs. I like how the text is varying sizes and how the use of colour is limited to only a few bold colours. The use of layers allows the images to be built upon, creating an interesting outcome.

This crisp piece of print shows how the choice of technique and subject matter can dramatically effect the impression of a piece and how the audience thinks of the product or in this case the charity event it is publicising. The chance to produce something like this is something I look forward to as the final outcome has an element of preciousness and high level of quality.

The Body Shop
Green Packaging Design

The Body Shop's packaging is an example of very simplistic product design. The strength of their logo allows them to use it with design that will be simplistic or quite textured. They're choice of colours gives the products an impression of unity, and quality. Due to it being a high street brand, they want to appeal to a large market. Their product design therefore does not want to insinuate an overly expensive brand or product. These photographs show the variety. I really like how they have used a limited colour scheme for men's products and products that are meant to be cleansing. Each product has relevant variations along the same lines.

2 the Nines Moustache Wax
For Dashing Gentlemen

"2 The Nines is a modern twist on a traditionally used hair-care product for men; mustache wax. The wax is scented/flavored unlike it’s traditional alternative. I chose to modernize the product both through the use of the “2” in the brand name and the use of modern/hand drawn typography. I also designed a series of posters calling out the different flavors of the wax."

I really like the way this product labelling has used colour and selective imagery to produce neat labelling. The black type on white labels create a great base for the moustache/comb image with large coloured 'WAX'. The design is uncomplicated and well placed giving the impression of quality.

FOCUSED - Current Design Research Projects and Methods - Poster for the Swiss Design Network Symposium 2008 in Berne, Switzerland.
- Cybu Richli - Fabienne Burri

This combination of type and image used in a poster for the Swiss Design Network Symposium plays with the opacity of an image allowing the type to create another layer. Its quite a hectic poster that works due to it's complexities. The constriction of colours therefore is necessary to allow the poster to communicate effectively. It's topic is very technical so therefore the poster publicises that, making it audience specific. The arrangement of the type is also technical and well arranged around the images. The larger type and the colour of the photo means that the boundaries of type and image merge.

Luxembourg & Dayan asked Watson & Company to design their Jeff Koons show, Made in Heaven Paintings. Creating a seventy page pink cloth-bound book to accompany the show. Along with newspaper advertising, interior signage and several invitations. This again reflects the neat simplicity of Watson & Company.

The colour choice reflects the subject matter and gives the suggestion of romanticism. I love the work due to it's effortless layout. They're choice of typeface is always perfectly suited to their choices and decisions regarding subject matter, colour and audience.
