Type and it's relationship with images and audio.
I wanted to put this video up because of the white typography over the moving image at the beginning, it's a very small detail but something that I think works really well. I am really interested in typography over photography or filming as I think it's so satisfying when done well. Something that is used quite a lot. Mixing both actual images and type is something I really think works well.
A different genre and subject but the typography used in it does not completely detract from the image but instead enhances it. Sometimes it irritates me that the horizon is not perfectly horizontal.
Tarantino's use of type within his opening sequence is something that is interesting because of the combination of type and strong audio, I wouldn't have considered it naturally but it works so well, for an opening scene it sets such a tone and pace to the film.
It inspires me to start looking at strong lyrical music for my idents to make a statement, similarly to Sorrentino's work.
