Audio: Top Ten Horror Films

I have started to consider the sort of audio I will use within my title sequence, in my design context blog I have started looking at this here.

I have noticed from my research (although ongoing) that the important thing with the audio is to use something particularly plain and to decide on it early on in the design process as the timing and tone of the  overall piece need to be cohesive and if a random piece of audio is used without consideration then it might not work with the visual aspects.

I thought that this is a good option due to the lack of lyrics and the fact that this would allow the viewer to read through the text as it has no lyrics so they could concentrate on the words. It's builds up suspense well and reminds me of a heart beating fast. Particularly 30-90 seconds. The pace of the audio would also allow a type effect on the writing. Like a government report being written out.

Although during a crit it was commented that the audio I had been looking at was all existing horror movie soundtrack music, although this was put as a strength I felt that it didn't show much imagination or consideration of other music. So I thought that maybe a piece of classical music that with the right imagery could have an eery effect.

I started to think about this and decided to get someone else opinion, I asked people about their favourite pieces of classical music with a potential to be unsettling and built on with the right imagery and tone of language.
