Guinness packaging and other branding examples.

I started looking into the direction of branding and packaging that Guinness had used and other options that I thought were interesting. Deciding that the more informed I was of what else was out there, then it would help me in my decision making.

This honey packaging really caught my eye due to the limited colours, with working with the brand Guinness, I think that limiting the colours used is going to be really key in keeping the packaging and promotion as strong as it can be. Even in the advertisements there is very limited colour used. For example:

This use of patterns, stickers, varied stock, but most importantly overall cohesion, gives this product a sense of added value.

The use of the product in a clear container is something that I really like, it would work well with Guinness too! The typeface is also very suited to the product and shows a well branded product.

I chose this due to the shapes used and the use of text to also create shapes on a very plain stock and design. As a collection of branding, especially for business cards. The strength of a simple logo is huge.

I really love this beer label as it looks modern and up to date with a really well designed and used typeface. The use of type only, looks so clean, and creates a difference to other beer labels that are usually cluttered with a lot of information that ends up being quite messy and ineffectively communicated.

Again, this shows how strong the use of type without image can look informative and still decorative.

I have started to notice how much type on it's own looks so good. This typeface has been created for the labelling within a project. It conveys simplicity and a modern look. On a shelf this would look so much better than over complicated labelling.

I am so keen on these designs. In clear bottles they promote the product for what it looks like, the black lines, shapes and minimal texts looks gorgeous!! Especially the bottle on the right, the pattern that the design makes over the beer works so well. This would obviously have low production costs due to the single colour.
