What is Graphic Design?

This combination of type and image used in a poster for the Swiss Design Network Symposium plays with the opacity of an image allowing the type to create another layer. Its quite a hectic poster that works due to it's complexities. The constriction of colours therefore is necessary to allow the poster to communicate effectively. It's topic is very technical so therefore the poster publicises that, making it audience specific. The arrangement of the type is also technical and well arranged around the images. The larger type and the colour of the photo means that the boundaries of type and image merge.
