Propaganda Poster Research
This WW1 poster is effective due to it's limited colour, creating a bold impact. The linguistic decision to us an exclamatory statement, followed by an imperative creates an emergency to the instructions. As a propaganda poster this is not subtle. Combined with the black silhouette on orange- a colour connected to warning this poster has a very clear message.
Another example of limited colour, image however, still a high impact. This poster was produced by the British Government in 1939 during WW2 in preparation to the fear of invasion. They were never used but discovered in 2000. The use of a simplistic upperclass typeface balances well with the intricate, detail of the crown. The strength comes from the simplicity of the design.
